Summary:  Assists with the daily activities of the summer and after school program including planning; providing recreational and youth development activities; and ensuring the health, safety and well-being of youth at all times.

Average 25 hours per week; 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm; 43 Weeks per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in providing daily supervision of youth.
  2. Assist in enforcing safety rules and procedures in compliance with Ohio Department of Job and Family Services licensing rules.
  3. Assist in coordinating recreational and youth development activities for students.
  4. Assist teachers during homework assistance and tutoring time, as needed.
  5. Assist with data collection and record keeping.
  6. Assist in preparing and maintaining program materials.
  7. Model appropriate behavior for youth at all times.
  8. Other duties and responsibilities as directed by supervisor.





To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.


Required High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED).


One to three years experience working with children and adults.

Additional Requirements:

  1. Initial and periodic physical exams required.
  2. Must submit to initial and/or periodic state and/or federal criminal checks.
  3. Must submit to initial and periodic drug and alcohol testing.
