The Patient Transporter helps patients by transporting them into, around and out of the health care organization. The Patient Transporter is responsible for transporting patients to and from their vehicles or mode of transportation, into, lifting them on and off beds, moving them to and from treatment areas and operating rooms, using wheelchairs or moveable beds. Transports equipment and supplies and delivers them to an assigned treatment area and patient care area. Ensures assigned areas are kept clean and adequately supplied. Always works as a team member within the entire facility. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Physical Demands:
High exposure to hazardous risks and contaminants, including potential for exposure to infections materials, blood and body fluids, electrical equipment, radiology and fluoroscopy equipment, chemicals, cleaning solvents, sterilization chemicals, sharps and wet floors. Hazards will be minimized if universal safety procedures are followed. Occasional exposure to outdoor climate.
